Using Negativity as Motivation

Have you ever been so excited about a goal, but it felt like everyone you shared your dream with had something negative to say about it?

“That will never happen.”

“You’re not thinking realistically.”

“Thats not a real job.”

If any of those sound familiar, trust me you are not alone.

There are going to be way more people who will try to pull you down than support you, not everyone will see your dream and that is okay.

I recently saw something on Instagram that said “know the difference between support and surveillance” and it really made me take a look at my personal life and the people I surround myself with.

As much as we want to believe that everyone is here to see us succeed, a lot of people are just nosey and probably jealous of your successes.

It can be really hard to stay motivated when people you love and trust are expecting you to fail, but thats when you have to keep going.

For a long time I did what everyone else wanted me to do, when at the end of the day, I am the only one who has to live with my choices.

Imagine going into a career that you’re only in because someone else told you it was more realistic than what you actually want to do, or you settle for something when you are capable of so much more, because someone else made you believe you wouldn’t make it.

The hard reality is that a lot of us get sucked into a life we didn’t choose because it is what’s expected of us.

Instead of following someone else narrative, make your own.

If I had a penny for every time someone told me my dreams weren’t realistic, I would be a millionaire. But I didn’t let their opinions stop me from following my dreams.

Think about where you could be 6 months from now if you focused on your goals and cut out all the negativity! Think about where you would be if you did this 6 months ago. My point is life is short, stop making excuses and start working for it.

Use the negativity as motivation, show all the people who said you can, and then proceed to do it ten times better.

I couldn’t name a single successful person who hasn’t dealt with hate and negativity, but look at all these people thriving.

Do not let other people write your life for you, and when they try…smile, nod, and do whatever the fuck you want.
