Everyone loves receiving gifts, I mean thats obvious. Some, like me, also love giving gifts.
This year was a very successful year on all ends. (I spoke about my anxiety and how I got through the holidays in my last post, check it out here!)
Not only did I feel fulfilled with the gifts I gave my loved ones, but also pleasantly surprised with what I received as well!
This post is not meant to brag or show off, it is a popular trend and I love reading these!
Lets start with what I gave and who I gave to!
My wonderful boyfriend…
The first thing he asked for was a watch from a company called Vincero, I knew about his want for this gift since he mentioned it in September. I got him the Chrono in Blue/Brown for $150 I will link it here. He loves watched so I knew he would take care of it and was very excited to open it on Christmas!
Second, he asked for Golf Wang “Save the Bees” T-shirt in black for $35…or so I thought. The price of the T-shirt is $35 but the shipping and taxes are outrageous, I ended up paying a total of $50 to receive it about 3 weeks after purchase. The reason I still went through with the purchase was that I had already said yes to the shirt and didn’t mind spending a bit extra on him. Definitely beware!
Third, my boyfriend is very into cigars, but always stores them in a plastic ziplock in the fridge. I decided to get him a small cigar box, also known as a Humidor. I wont go into the science behind it but I got this on on Amazon for around $30 and so far so good! I also got him a few cigars to fill up his Humidor.
Hang tight, were almost done with his gifts! One day I was walking around GoodWill and found a Golf jacket that he would like for guess what…$7! I picked that up and he was very excited about it!
We started a new tradition this year making DIY snow globes, he was not there to make it with me but next year he will be! Every year we will make a new snow globe and have them for years to come.
My boyfriends sisters…
My boyfriend has twin sisters so we had to make sure the gifts were even. One of the sisters asked for a ring that she had been wanting, we decided to get her that ($70) and tarot cards ($50) from an artist she loves. We got his other sister bluetooth waterproof earbuds ($100) and also bought her ticket to the hockey game we are going to on New Years Eve!
**We wanted to make their gifts even because they bought my boyfriend $200 boots which they split, so he did $100 each for them and I did around $40 on each***
My boyfriends parents
His mother was in the market for a new hairdryer, and seeing as I am a stylist, I had some good ideas on what brand and model to get her. We got her a Babyliss ceramic dryer with a concentrator for $60. Her mother passed away years ago and since mine did as well, I got her the same thing I got my aunt and uncle (keep reading)
His dad is a big beer guy, so we got him a customized beer pint for get this, $15! He’s a very simple man who doesn’t want much but he used his pint all day on Christmas and loves it!
Now onto my side of the family!
I don’t have as many people to buy for and my brother and I don’t exchange gifts, so I got for my aunt, uncle and his wife.
I got them each a few small things but they all went above and beyond with my gifts so I have since added a few things to the list!
I wont bore you with the little things, but my aunt and uncle are siblings and my grandmother (their mother) passed away two years ago. She really liked to cook so I got them each cutting boards with a handwritten recipe engraved on it. I found them on etsy but you can get them everywhere. This is what I mentioned earlier that I also got my boyfriends mother, except I got her one with a recipe from her mother on it!
Now…onto what I got for Christmas.
To start, my boyfriend got me a ring, an air fryer that doubles as a convection oven, and the Ugg’s I have been wanting for months. I was very happy with all my gifts and have not taken the ring, or the Ugg’s off since! In a few days my boyfriend and I will be making a romantic dinner and will be trying out the air fryer, if all goes well I will make a whole post about it!
My boyfriends family spoiled me this year which I was not expecting….
My boyfriends mother made me a blanket that all the kids have, I am always cold so this made me really happy and she even made it with a fabric that has cute cats all over it! This was special because not only did she hand make it but I felt very included seeing as my boyfriend and his sisters have them from years ago as well. She also got me hand soap that I use and love at their house all the time (its already in my bathroom).
His sisters got me a robe that I have been wanting and some bath and body works stuff in my favorite scent, along with a glittery flask, gift card to Bottle King, and a nip of Tito’s!
On my side of the family…my uncle got me (drum roll please…) a new phone! I have been in desperate need of a new phone for over a year and was talked into getting an android (I had the iPhone X) so I got the Google Pixel 3a and I am in love! He also got me some clothes!
My aunt followed suit with some clothes but she also got me a cold brew coffee maker (in depth post to come) a necklace, and some driving leather gloves that I have been wanting for years!
I may be forgetting some things but all in all this year was great, not just because of the gifts but because I got to spend it with family and friends!
